(BPT) - The National Council on Aging (NCOA), the national voice for every person’s right to age well, is helping community-based organizations across the country provide updated COVID and flu vaccines to older adults. Spanning 38 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, the organizations include senior centers, local aging services agencies, and community nonprofits.
Older adults are at higher risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19 and the flu than younger age groups. Vaccination helps lower that risk, which is why staying up to date on your vaccines is important to best protect yourself and your loved ones.
